With over 100 years in the business, it is time for a new chapter in the history of Dohrns - the company becomes a part of Gothenburg-based Space Production. Together Nordics leading comprehensive supplier in event, exhibitions and interior design production is created, with business in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Åre and Hannover.
Space Production enters as majority shareholder in Dohrns Exhibitions & Events. The former industry colleagues have a lot in common as two leading players in the fair and event industry.
- These are two well-established companies that stand for quality, experience and professional skill, says Johan Berggren, chairman of the board in Space Production and now also in Dohrns Exhibitions & Events.
The synergy effects are also believed to be numerous. Not least, the companies will complement each other geographically and be able to offer local production capacity in Stockholm and Gothenburg respectively, thus streamlining operations and reducing environmental impact. At the same time, the companies will continue their operations as separate companies.
- Space is Space, and Dohrns will be Dohrns. These are two strong brands that we want to continue to develop and grow under our own auspices, Johan continues.
Dohrns Exhibitions & Events has been owned and operated within the Dohrn family since 1925. The company started as an advertising studio and has developed over the years to be a comprehensive supplier in event and exhibition production.
It may seem strange to bring in a new partner in an almost 100-year-old family business, but we see it as a fantastic opportunity for the company to be able to live for another 100 years, says Stefan Dohrn, third-generation owner of Dohrns Exhibitions & Events.
In connection with the acquisition, Therese Dohrn takes over the role of CEO in the company. Therese has worked as a project manager in the company for a number of years and has also been part of the company's management. About her new role and the sale to Space Production, she comments,
