The future of the construction of exhibition stands is sustainable and circular
In recent years, the trade fair industry has been characterized by circularity. At Space Production, we prefer to work with booth materials that are easy to reuse.
Stina Nyström is a project manager at Space Production and together with her clients develops trade fair concepts, she is involved from the first sketch to the finished project.
- The last few years have been characterized by circularity. Customers want a good product at the right price, and reusable displays have always been a first step. Because we have our own joinery, we can ensure that products meet a high standard and thus last longer.
Sustainability by quality
At Space Production, materials that are easy to recycle are often recommended, but sometimes materials that are perhaps more difficult to recycle, that can be used for many years, can be a better option, from an environmental point of view.
- We often use different types of wood, MDF and aluminum solutions that are flexible and robust. With proper care, these materials can be used in a circular way.
Clarity in the ordering phase
When ordering a stand with a focus on sustainability and circularity, it is important to be clear from the start that sustainability is important for the event or fair participation.
- It is also good to have a plan for which fairs and events you are planning in the years to come, because we can then from the beginning find materials and solutions that do not end up on the warehouse shelf after just one use.
She takes Continental Tires as an example:
- For two years, they have had the same stand material at the eCar Expo exhibitions. Even if the design is nailed down, there is always room for variation and development.
Stina Nyström hopes that more companies will see how important and easy it is to exhibit in a sustainable way.
- Something I believe in is investing in reusable products instead of buying cheap ones that don't last. We are facing a major and important transition. The trade fair industry often has shortcomings regarding sustainability, therefore I feel that I am in exactly the right place to be able to make a difference.
