Sweden's largest stand builder continues to grow – Space Production tops the list again

Some time ago, Eventeffect published a list of Sweden's largest stand builders. At the top of the list was Space Production again. They were naturally curious about the business and called CEO Lasse Frisk to hear more about the success and future of the Gothenburg company.

When Eventeffect presented its financial report on Sweden's 19 largest stand builders, it was clear that Space Production once again takes first place. With an impressive range of assignments – from trade fair stands and tours to international events and interior design projects – the company has consolidated its position as the industy leader.

"Since the upswing after the pandemic, we have remained strong as the largest company in the stand construction industry. This is mainly due to the fact that we have a huge width in our deliveries, in addition to producing trade show stands," says Lasse Frisk, CEO for Space Production.

The company has experienced significant growth in recent years, with assignments both in Sweden and internationally. Over the past year, Space Production has delivered everything from grand events in Las Vegas and trade fair stands around Europe to tours in Sweden and interior design projects in Copenhagen.

"No project is too big or too small for Space. With great expertise in-house, our goal is to create both sustainable and cost-effective solutions and be a reliable partner. We thank our customers and aim to continue to be at the top as one of Sweden's leading stand builders," says Frisk.

To gain a deeper insight into what drives success, how Space Production works with sustainability and what trends are shaping the trade fairs of the future, we asked Lasse Frisk a few questions.

You once again top the list of Sweden's largest stand builders - what do you think are the most important factors behind your success?

– Of course, there are many things that come into play, but I believe that our greatest strength is the whole. We have everything under one roof – from idea and design to production and logistics. We are fast, solution-oriented and have a team that is truly passionate about what we do. The commitment to each project makes the difference. Then we also have our loyal customers to thank, many of whom we have collaborated with for several years, which helps us to top the list year after year.

You not only work with trade show booths but also with events, tours and interior design – how does that breadth affect the way you work and create value for customers?

– That's right. That breadth makes us more creative and we can bring ideas and thinking from different worlds into our work. I also think that customers appreciate that we have the capacity to create in multiple environments. This means that they can hire us in different contexts and have one and the same supplier – regardless of whether it's a tour or new interior design for the reception. This way, you can think more broadly from the beginning of the projects and build more long-term collaborations.

Sustainability is a key issue in the industry right now. How does Space Production work specifically with sustainable materials and solutions?

– Sustainability is an ongoing work for us. We reuse materials, build modularly and collaborate with suppliers who share our values. In each project, we make a trade-off between different solutions. Sometimes a material may seem less sustainable in the short term, but thanks to its long lifespan, it becomes a better choice from an environmental perspective. In addition to this, we also work to reduce our transportation and energy consumption.

You have carried out projects all over the world, from Las Vegas to Copenhagen - what trends do you see internationally that affect Swedish trade fairs and events?

– It's a difficult question, because trends sometimes come and go quickly. But in general, we see that more large companies are choosing to organize their own trade fairs and events, where they invite key people and own the entire experience themselves. Then it's not just about showing off products, but about creating engaging and memorable environments – and we see that increasing in Sweden as well.

Looking ahead – how do you think the stand construction industry will change in the next five years?

– I believe that much of the craftsmanship and foundation of the industry will remain, but that technology will play an increasingly important role. There are new, exciting solutions, and technology has generally become more accessible and cost-effective. Therefore, I believe that we will see a shift in how we think about the design and production of displays in the future.
